BCM Donates Wii Sports to Wilmer Hall Children’s Home

In the spirit of holiday giving, the attorneys and staff of Burns, Cunningham & Mackey, P.C., recently donated Wii video consoles and games to the local children’s home, Wilmer Hall, and to the assisted living facility, Murray House.  The executive director of Wilmer Hall, Sally Greene, said they would put the game to good use, most likely in the boy’s residence.  Likewise, the administration at the Murray House plan to implement a men’s game night for the use and enjoyment of the Wii.

The current Murray House and Wilmer Hall are scions of nineteenth century philanthropy in Mobile, Alabama. Murray House was established in 1829 as The Women’s Benevolent Home, but has housed orphans, Confederate widows and the elderly during the almost 200 years since.  Wilmer Hall dates back to 1864, and has been in its current location, operating in the same buildings, since 1914.  The children’s home provides a safe family environment for boys and girls up to 21 years of age.
