Toys for Tots Drive in South Baldwin County

Since 1948, the United States Marine Corps has collected and distributed nearly 435 million toys to needy children at Christmas through the annual Toys for Tots campaign. This year the Marine Corps league chapter in Gulf Shores, Alabama, the Corporal Joseph Whitehead Detachment, is coordinating the collection of toys in south Baldwin County. Billy Cunningham, who lives in Josephine, is a member of that detachment and is assisting with the toy drive. We are collecting toys here in our office, in downtown Mobile, if anyone would like to drop them off here.

There are locations in most of the communities in Mobile and Baldwin Counties where new, unwrapped toys are being collected. In Baldwin County, those locations include the libraries in Robertsdale, Daphne, Foley, Loxley, Magnolia Springs, Orange Beach, Robertsdale, Summerdale and Gulf Shores.

In Gulf Shores the Bodenhamer Center, the Erie Meyer Civic Center and the Gulf Shores Museum are also drop off locations. A number of businesses are collection points and there are signs in other communities indicating drop off locations. If for some reason a potential donor is unable to get the toys to a drop off location, please call Billy here at the office, and he will assist.
