Tragedy Strikes Again…

Tragedy strikes again.  A mother accidentally backed over and killed her 3 year old son in Baldwin County yesterday.   Defects in car design, especially large SUVs that do not have back-mounted cameras create a “blind zone” where the driver taking full advantage of the rearview and side mirrors remains unable to see for a distance immediately behind the car.  In the U.S. at least fifty children are being backed over by vehicles EVERY week. Forty-eight (48) are treated in hospital emergency rooms and at least two (2) children are fatality injured every WEEK.  KidsAndCars is an organization devoted to, among other things, eliminating this danger.  My prayers go out to the family.
